I saw Super 8 on comfy theater seat yesterday. It was generally a very good movie. J.J. Abrams has established himself as a director who not only can make people want to see what he’s creating, but also able to deliver a gripping storyline on top of all the special effects that we know that he can use to full effect. I don’t know if it was a camera they used (maybe it was lens for super 8?), but the light in the movie was often accentuated by horizontal blue glares.

Anyhow, this post isn’t for reviewing the movie despite what I wrote on the first paragraph. This post is about hero’s journey and how the hero gets the girl in the end. I don’t know about you, but I grew up with heroes that get the guy or the girl that in the end. Of course, through the hardships of the journey, the hero demonstrates his core values. In real life, it’s hard to find situations in which you can demonstrate your values. Perhaps that’s why I always dream of myself becoming a hero in the movies.
